What we store, and what leaves our storage.

Account identity

To use the closet you create an account with an email address, or sign in with Google. We store your email address, your account identifier, and sign-in timestamps. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, or payment details, and there is nothing to pay for during the beta.

Everything you create — garments, outfits, saved looks, styling rules — is stored against your account identifier and is readable only by your account.

Garment photos

Photos of your clothes are uploaded to private cloud storage. They are not publicly accessible: the app fetches them through short-lived signed links created for your session only. We compute a hash of each image so that re-uploading the same photo doesn’t create duplicates.

Alongside each image we store the metadata shown in the app: name, category, colour, pattern, fit, length, comfort, weather, modesty and your notes. You can edit all of it.

Full-body photos

A full-body photo is optional and only stored if you upload one after an explicit consent step. It is kept in separate private storage under your account and is used for one purpose: generating previews of a look on you.

You can replace or delete your body photo in the app at any time.

When images are sent to an AI service

Two features send data to third-party AI services through our server, never directly from your browser to them:

Understanding your day: the text you write or dictate to Kokosh is sent to a language model so it can be parsed into plans, weather, comfort, and cautions. We do not send your photos for this step.

See it on me: when you ask for a preview of a specific look on your own photo, your body photo and the garment images for that look are sent to an AI image-generation service, which returns the generated preview. This means those images do leave our storage for that request. We do not claim your photos never leave your device.

We do not send your photos for advertising, model training we control, or any purpose other than producing the result you asked for. Third-party providers process the data under their own terms, and we cannot make promises on their behalf beyond what those terms say.

Generated previews

Previews generated for you are stored against your account so you can see them again, and are deleted when you delete them or the underlying photo.

Deletion and its limits

You can delete individual garments, saved looks, your body photo, and generated previews from inside the app. Deleting a garment removes its record and its stored image.

Two honest limits: deleted content can persist for a short period in routine operational backups before those rotate out, and data already processed by a third-party AI provider is subject to that provider’s retention rather than ours. To delete your whole account, use the feedback route and we will remove the account and its stored content.

Analytics and cookies

Our hosting platform records aggregate visit data (such as page paths, referrers, approximate region and device type) so we can see whether the public pages work. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not enable advertising signals or enhanced conversion tracking, and we do not sell or share data with advertisers.

If Google Analytics is enabled on the public site, it is used in this aggregate, non-advertising configuration only. Cookies and browser storage are used for keeping you signed in and remembering in-app preferences on your device — not for cross-site profiling.

Children

Kokoshita is not intended for use by children under 13.

This is a public beta and this notice will change as the product does. Material changes will be reflected here.
